Arctic 2 Africa Team!

About

On the 28/05/13, Thomas Smith, Chris Thomas, Ashley Middlewick, Mark Watson, Kinza Louise and Michelle Cassell will be setting off on an epic bike ride - Arctic to Africa.

The cycle starts at Scandanavia's northernmost point - Nordkapp Hornvika (The North Cape) in Norway, deep within the Arctic Circle. Over the course of 5000 miles we will pass through Norway, Finland, Sweden, Denmark, Germany, Switzerland, France, Spain, Morocco and Western Sahara, before finally reaching Accra, Ghana where we will be joined by volunteers from RHF to cycle the final stage to Santrokofi.

The ride will consist of 2.5 months of 100 mile days (carrying all our own gear/camping stuff) with a massive contrast in climate as we head further south.

We are raising funds for RHF's Orphanage Project in Santrokofi - the end destination of our ride, and we'll also be taking part in the Summer Schools that the charity run each year. Our fundraising target is £20,000 (this will cover the cost of finishing the final stages of construction at the currently unfinished orphanage).

Thank you for your support!
